Ancestry.com | Subscription or very basic free information. Evangelical Lutheran Church scans, US census, resources by state, family trees. Free at MGS library and many county libraries.

Civil & Ecclesiastical Divisions of Norway | Administrative divisions and Church organization in Norway.

Norgeskart.no | Enter a farm or community (kommune) name. Select from the list that appears. 

Norwegian-American Historical Association (NAHA) | Extensive collection located at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN. To view genealogy and family history resources at St. Olaf and NAHA, click here.

Norwegian Farm Names | Oluf Rygh site to find farm location in Norway.

Norway Farm Names & Parish Searches | Map of Norway with "traditional" counties. Input the county (fylke) and municipality into the search, if possible. 

Norwegian Historical Data Center | Search Norwegian census and transcribed parish registers. Recently updated, easy to use. Select "MENY" in the top right corner and 3 search options will appear (easy, advanced, parish registers). Documents are in Norwegian. 

Slekt og Data | Norwegian site with minimal English translation but good links. Former name was DIS-Norge. Subscription required.

Slekt1 | Bygdebøker lists by fylke and kommune/municipality. Use this to find out whether there is a bygdebok for the area you are searching. 

Worldcat | Find libraries that have a particular book. MGS & N-AGA collections are included. Use this to find a book to request by inter-library loan. (Note: MGS & N-AGA collections are not available for inter-library loan)
