Welcome to the Norwegian-American Genealogical Association


N-AGA membership meetings have been held the last Wednesday of most months at the Minnesota Genealogy Center, 1385 Mendota Heights Road, Mendota Heights MN 55120. At the September 29th meeting we will discuss whether a different day and or time is preferable. See the map for directions under About Us → Contact Us. On September 29 doors will open at 6pm for research and/or personal assistance with research. N-AGA members can make an appointment for personal assistance, or direct research inquiries to research@norwegianamerican.orgA brief business meeting begins at 7pm in the Mississippi Room, followed by a presentation at 7:15pm.

N-AGA is a branch of the Minnesota Genealogical Society. Our extensive library of Norwegian books and maps for research is located in the Hoffman Research Library of the Minnesota Genealogical Society, 1385 Mendota Road, Mendota Heights, 55120. Library privileges are a benefit of N-AGA membership.

Please Note: MGS is sometimes without a volunteer to staff the library. Please check the MGS library page to confirm that the library is open prior to your visit. 

The Hoffman Research Library hours are: Wednesdays from 10-4 pm, Thursdays from 10-8 pm and Saturdays from 10am - 4pm. Masks are required for everyone in the MGS building whether you are vaccinated or not vaccinated. Members are allowed free access to the library. Non-members are charged $10/visit.
